Iced Peach Tea, Iced Teh Melayu and The Guilty Greens |
How is it suddenly April already? March flew by just like that, especially since I was bedridden and homebound for almost an entire month, due to my poor health. As you may know, I am currently recovering from surgery and it became a massive wake up call. I had been made to realise that my diet as of recently hasn’t been healthy, to say the least, and it has detrimental effect on my body.
This definitely shook me from my delusion that I have an indestructible physique that can weather any storm and endure just about anything. I threw myself to healthy food, such as vegetable and fruits—trying to be as diverse as possible on this front as well—and stayed away from anything that can challenge my current recuperating state.
I quit coffee—or, at least, haven’t had one in a month—and try to stay as far away as possible from fried food. I go back to my love for tea, citrus fruits and maybe cheese here and there. In just two weeks, it did wonders to my body. Not only do I feel much more energised and less sluggish, I also lost 4 kg—the equivalent of around 9 lbs, I guess.

Truth be told, I had never been to a salad bar before, but I have been intrigued by this small space since before I fell ill. Located right next to the Cipete MRT station exit, I’ve come across this place so often on the weekends—usually on my way to seeing my love. Just as we finally decided to stop by, well, I became bedridden. So, obviously, the first place I had to visit as I was recovering was this place—and it should only be appropriate that it’s a healthy eatery.
We tried out their limited menu The Guilty Green, in collaboration with Buffalo—which is another eatery we love. It is basically a salad—consisting of classic spicy Buffalo chicken pieces, romaine lettuce, coleslaw, corn, paprika, kyuri, and cherry tomatoes—wrapped in dried cheese. It was marvellous! The dried cheese is the best! From Hela Coffee, we tried out their Iced Peach Tea and Iced Teh Melayu—which is kind of like teh tarik with jasmine tea. So good to be eating healthy and tasty again!
Addressing the elephant in the room: Yes, I had another pixie cut and I’m so glad to feel like myself again.
