You might see these photos and think, “I think I’ve seen these before,” but you haven’t. The photos you might be thinking of are the ones fromthis post. As you can see, it’s a whole other set of photos. Aside from that, it also feels a little like a déjà vu in all other aspects. That other post was posted around this time last year too, just when the whole concept of the pandemic finally hit me. We were still grappling with what a global outbreak entailed and how we would survive all that.
This time, as we thought we were coming out of it, the pandemic gave us a wake up call. Vaccinations are being more widely spread. In fact, I’ve got myself injected around 3 weeks ago. The injection itself wasn’t particularly painful—it was actually painless—but the symptoms afterwards were actual hell. I got on-and-off fever that simmered for 1 1/2 days and the forearm where I got injected was super sore, I could barely lift it up. We’ve been back at the office pretty regularly lately, but this week jerked us awake as the patient count is skyrocketing in Jakarta alone. How did we forget that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic?
Herheine pyjama set
One week may be very chill and almost boring, while the next will be super hectic and got my head spinning. To tackle that, I’ve been back to planning my day-to-day—which, I think we can all agree, has been on hold during the beginning of the pandemic. It has felt a little more appropriate to be hopeful and looking forward to the future again, after a year-long period of having time universally paused.
That being said, I feel like I’m more open to shit happening now, post-pandemic—meaning, if things don’t go exactly according to plan, I’m more forgiving of it. After a year of every plan being put on hold, little obstacles seem miniscule.
Lately, I’ve been reading this book, which is another perspective on tackling climate change—something we all remembered early last year, but have once again put on the back burner by now. I’ve also bought the cutest whiteboard magnets from Johanna Puhl—which arrived after these photos were taken—and they’ve lightened up the room. I’ve got some exciting things in the works for this blog soon. Watch this space!
