Feels like it has been a pretty dry February on this blog, hasn’t it?A lot of things have happened this month—both professionally and personally—that I barely had time to spare for this little space on the internet. Work has been pretty hectic—there was a good week of whirlwind project that got me working on the weekend too. Personal life has been unusually lively—what with my friend Iva coming to visit after 4 years. Every week seems to be pretty packed! On top of that, the weather has been pretty unpredictable lately too. No wonder there hasn’t been any outfit posts from me lately—yes, all that is really to give this excuse to you (lol).

A Taste of Japan
That being said, a couple weeks ago, Agung and I decided to spend time strolling through Little Tokyo to visit Papaya, which—if you don’t know—is a Japanese convenience store. They sell all sorts of Japanese products, seasonings, meat and ready-made dishes. The little store also has a bakery section where they sell all sorts of bread, pudding and cakes. The other day we came out of this convenience store with a bunch of delicious snacks.
Ultimately we walked out with dorayaki, custard pudding and a milk tea in hand. The dorayaki we picked was the original version, with plain dough and red bean paste filling. The milk tea wasn’t very sweet, which is pretty rare to find in Indonesia. And the custard pudding is my favourite! I used to eat this dessert all the time in high school. It really brought me back. We absolutely enjoyed the taste very much. They all tasted premium!

However, since Papaya is a convenience store, it doesn’t have anywhere for us to sit and enjoy our snacks. So we decided to walk along Little Tokyo to find somewhere we could sit without having to buy more things and/or getting into trouble. That was where we spent our afternoon until the sun went down, eating up our sweets and washing it down with the milk tea. Although the area wasn’t particularly aesthetically pleasing—to say the least—we decided to have some pictures taken anyway. On my part, I realised if we didn’t take any then, it’ll be too long before my next outfit post—as we have seen.
The photos turned out to be pretty satisfactory. This place we randomly picked, simply because we managed to sit there comfortably without having to pay for anything or bothering anyone, turned out to be surrounded with a pretty good environment. The skyline from here also looks gorgeous. Agung loves the contrasting lighting of the storefront’s artificial lights and the darkening sky in the background in particular. Very Y2K, he said.
Well, really, that’s all I’ve got to say about this day. It’s pretty chill, for a change.

Japan Central
Let’s talk about the outfit a little bit, shall we? You may notice a relatively new item being added to my wardrobe by this outfit, namely the jeans. I can’t believe I found this piece at a thrift store. First of all, the fit is absolutely perfect! Having gained a lot of weight lately—and little drive to actually do anything about it (lol—finding a pair of pants that will fit me is such a challenge. But this one, somehow, managed to do so.
Secondly, it has just the nicest acid-wash finishing that makes it just look so authentically gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a pair of jeans as divine as this beautiful number. The detail on the back of the legs also adds a bit more edge to the whole look. And to think it cost me only 70k!
From the first time I laid my eyes on these pants, I already knew I’d want to pair it with a graphic t-shirt—preferably a band t-shirt, although I have none except for the ones Agung has given me—and I’ll definitely wear this to Joyland Festival in a few weeks.
It’s majorly comfortable too. In fact, I’ve actually worn it several times since before and after these photos were taken. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe. Stay tuned to see more stylings of it!

Speaking of styling, let me leave you off with a little update from this blog—just in case you didn’t notice it before: Remix It Up a Notch is back! Back by popular demand, I hope it will be a midweek treat for y’all from now on. If you didn’t know, Remix It Up a Notch used to be a segment on this blog that I left for a while. I thought it was something self-indulgent and no one cared about it, but you guys asked for it back—so here it is! I’ve only just re-started it, of course, so I cannot promise consistency, although I do aim for it to at least be a bi-weekly thing. There are so many clothing pieces in so many stylings that I’d love to show you—even before these jeans—so stay tuned!
