Yet another item that I felt unsure about upon receiving. This time, though, the colour and pattern choice didn’t really go to me. This pair of beautiful batik pants were given to me after winning a giveaway hosted by drsv. I believe they used hand-drawn batik by local artisans—I think it was made in Cirebon—so each item has different patterns and colours. When I entered the giveaway, the photo they used was a black version of such pants, so I was expecting to win that pair. However, it turns out the one that reached me was this purple pair.
While I didn’t think they sucked, I did feel a bit intimidated by them. Can you blame me? The colour is very particular, the pattern makes it so unique and the colour-blocking pockets, well, let’s just say it’s a piece that stands well on its own. However, they make these pants hard to pair with other items—and you sure as hell can’t wear only pants, now can you? But then I started wearing it on the blog and instagram, and you guys went nuts! Thank you so much for your kind comments on these pants. Now I feel really, really comfortable and confident sporting this pair—in fact, it’s become one of my absolute favourite pants.
