Here it is! The post everyone has been waiting for…probably. In my last post, I mentioned how I was going to revamp Firu’s room. Well, here’s the story. On April 1st we started with the whole process. Before they were painted, the walls to Firu’s room were white. Though I think it was very nice and made the room look bigger than it probably is, I am very happy by how they look now. Firu, Sakurako and I scratched some ideas on paper. We came up with several varying designs. Ultimately, Saku-chan’s designs were picked. We all – including one of Firu’s flatmates – started painting the background colour. It’s probably hard to tell from pictures but we used two different background colours for two halves of the room. Too bad, before we even started painting the designs, Saku-chan had to go home because her friend was coming the next day. Thank God we managed to finish the background colours in one day, though.
The main concept of the designs was the ハロ(HALO) characters…or mascots (?) from the Gundam series. Firu – and Sakurako, for that matter – is a huge Gundam fan. His idea was to have his room filled with these adorable little creatures. The design of the two giant HALO on opposite sides of the room was Saku’s idea. The rest of the walls, I just painted however I see fit. Haha. To be honest, the left side of the windows was decorated with Mokona while the right side with pokéballs and more HALOs – but this side is covered with a bookcase. There is a door at the far end of his room leading to the balcony. I also painted Kero-chan from Cardcaptor Sakura on it, as the guardian of the door, so to speak. My personal favourite is the pair of little wings – a design I borrowed from CLAMP because it was Firu’s favourite symbol – on the top sides of the bedroom door. At the end of April 2nd, after I finished painting everything, Firu cleaned the lines and colours up and voila! What do you guys think?
P.S: to all Gundam fans, I apologize for botching up your precious HALO (´ A `)⎠
