Life Through the Lens v.01

Back in 2017, I bought an analog camera at Low Light Bazaar 11. It was the first analog camera I’ve ever had since primary school—analog was the only way to go back then, kids—so I didn’t want anything complex that requires a considerable level of expertise. I just asked the vendor at the time what he would recommend for a newbie who only wants a point-and-shoot device. The good man from DeCamera suggested I go with a Novacam Frizz Focus-Free 28mm lens pocket cam—and it happens to be for sale too. Within a week or so, I already burned through the whole film roll. Guess I was just too excited to stop snapping at anything around me. Well, fast forward to over 4 years later, that roll finally got developed and these are the results. Fair warning—it will make absolutely zero sense.

Let me use this chance to thank Anak Analog for developing these photos so very quickly. Honestly, they turn out absolutely amazing. They also helped me insert the new film in my camera, so I’ll be able to snap some more shots soon—this time I’ll carefully fill each frame to be more meaningful to me. I wouldn’t say that none of these things stir any emotions in me—there were photos from my third-wheel date with my old friend Caro. Gosh, we haven’t seen each other in a long time! Maybe I should send these photos to her.

For the next batch, I hope to have more sentimental frames. Maybe something along the lines of Annette Pehrsson, Tina Sosna or Claradevi Handriatmadja. Aesthetically pleasing, plucking at the heartstrings and absolutely rich with meanings. So watch this space!
