Happy long weekend, y’all! It is that sweet, sweet spot between Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day—two holidays that I do not celebrate—when I get to post this red-themed outfit. Perfect, no? Today is actually the 14th monthversary for Agung and myself, though—and I suppose the colour red is what these three occasions call for. It wasn’t exactly intentional, mind you. It just so happened that some of my late Grandma’s old clothes got sent to my house a couple weeks ago and I managed to look through them long enough to score this gorgeous, sheer red button-up.
It actually comes with its own ensemble of vest and pencil skirt—all red, by the way—but, unfortunately, the skirt doesn’t fit me and the vest simply looks ridiculous. I’d feel like I was in a musical number of sorts. However, this shirt alone is an absolute dream since, not only does it fit me like an oversized glove, but it also has such fun polkadot patterns and breezy material with enough structure to look professional. It is a mere and utter coincidence that it should be worn today of all days.

These photos were taken last week on my favourite bridge in the city. I’ve admired this bridge for at least two years, but never had the chance to have my photos taken here. This is the Gelora Bung Karno crossing bridge, which has a bus stop in the middle of it. It is also quite a popular bridge, with plenty of people coming here to get their photos taken and/or capture the bridge’s beauty itself—even on the day we visited it.
I used to walk through here all the time before it got remodelled by PT. ARKONIN in 2019; it definitely looks so much better now. Not only is it disabled-friendly, the roof is also reinforced with anti-UV layer to protect pedestrians from sunlight and the flooring is made out of sustainable Green Resource Material (GRM) Biowood. It looks so much more elegant now.
Seeing the somewhat-new structure against the backdrop of the surrounding skyscrapers, I felt like Jakarta has finally become a metropolitan to be reckoned with. Agung was so excited, he initiated the ideas for some of these shots—guess which ones!
What is your favourite structure where you live?
