A little preface: since I first started blogging, there have been a lot of international bloggers that I admire—one of them is Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky. Her blog has been deleted and replaced for a long time, but I still admire her spirit and sense of style—not only in clothes too. She inspires me in more ways than she could ever know. Well, anyway, back in 2015 she opened up the contents of her wardrobe for sale, including this gorgeous and iconic yellow dress. As someone who only a year prior pined for it, I was so excited when I actually got my hands on it.
This dress is just too special. Aside from the aforementioned reason, it also became the first mustard-coloured dress I’ve ever owned—and still the only one to this day. It turns out that yellow, especially mustard, suits my skin tone very well. However, up until I bought this dress, very few of my clothes come in the colour yellow—and not a single dress, which is my favourite kind of clothing piece.
What’s more? The dress fit me perfectly—and still does to this day! The figure-hugging silhouette really accentuates my form. It looks really different on different body types—see Elizabeth’s stylings down below, doesn’t it give off a different vibe to you? The stretchable fabric makes fits into any size that I’m currently at—which is constantly changing. The crochet collar is such a cute touch, as well as the semi-backless part with the ribbon—really uniquely adorable! I really love wearing it any way—on its own, with skirts and under other dresses, you name it!
