Exhibit B: Seek • A • Seek

Another week, another exhibition to explore. This week we’ll be exploring Seek-A-Seek currently being exhibited over at Dia.Lo.Gue—until 31 January 2020! Truth be told, I didn’t really know about this exhibition at first, if it wasn’t for my boyfriend Agung asking me to go with him. It displays a whole array of exhibits created by design agencies in the country. There were so many famous and amazing ones—most of which were friends of our previous supervisor.

This was a realm that I wasn’t particularly familiar with, but Agung was very knowledgeable in this field. He showed me some of his favourite studios, including Studio1212Le Boye and Thinking Room. My personal favourite is The 1984—whose exhibit explores bio-plastic alternatives—and Table Six—who displays a wall of rip-off poetic passages you can take home with you. I really love the wide array of personalities all these agencies have to offer. It really shows that each one is unique in their own way—and why they are pretty much the greats in the industry.

Let’s talk about the outfit a little bit, shall we? The star of this #ootd, just in case it wasn’t apparent enough, is this gorgeous victorian-style batik dress handed down to me by my Stepmom. She’s had it for a while, apparently, but never having worn it once. When I first saw it, I was very much intrigued by the cut and adornment—especially the collar and puffy elbow-length sleeves. The ribbon on the neckline as well as the coordination of the patterns and colours really captured my heart.

My only concern was that it wouldn’t fit—which turned out to be no worries at all. While I love pairing it with my newly-acquired boyfriend denim jacket, I thought for the first styling on this little blog, it should be pretty much on its own. When I wore this number to work, a lot of people certainly noticed how fancy I looked in it—pretty regal, if I say so myself. Here’s to more styling of this unique piece of cloth on this little old blog.
