Lemon Banana (Soy) Milkshake

Lately, my sister has been on a smoothie roll. She’s been making all sorts of smoothies – and even bought her own blender – but I had yet to taste one. Until, one day, she offered to make me one. So this is what she made me. We were just mixing things up, trying out different ingredients. I must admit, it tastes kind of weird but I liked it. So much so that I thought I’d put it up as a recipe post for you all.

Originally, I wanted to create something suitable for the cold months. But – let’s face it! – we don’t exactly have that around here so…here you go. You can obviously turn it into a warm beverage by heating it up, though. Hope you like it!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • a bit of water
  1. First of all, in case you haven’t frozen the banana, put it in the freezer for at least a couple hours. Overnight is recommended.
  2. Squeeze the lemon
  3. Put all the ingredients in the blender and let it blend for 2-3 minutes
  4. After everything is well-blended, especially the banana, pour it into a glass
  5. Enjoy!

Tips: Chop the banana before you freeze it, so that it would be easier to blend afterwards. You can use cow milk, of course, but it will taste different. With soy, it tastes like yoghurt, actually. You can add more lemon, if you want more sour in your drink. The water just helps soften the consistency, so if you like it thick, it’s okay to disregard that. This recipe was from my sister, so I’m not sure if the banana would’ve worked without being frozen first, but you can try, of course. Lass euch schmecken!
